So, got to the homepage of this site, click support, can your computer, install the BIOS update manually, and see if that helps. The BIOS update did fix the problem, and I have been on three hour to two hour zoom meetings with no problem. The sound board update did not fix the problem. I tried to install all updates automatically, but it would freeze up.
I logged on to the Lenovo site, went to support, did an auto scan of my computer to find its name and product number and then went to updates. I tried all those other tricks listed above, but no matter how the options were toggled, same results. However, it would still show as working when tested on the computer, even with Zoom open. It made a click, stopped working, would not work when tested on the Zoom app. But when I logged on Zoom, it would not work.
The issue was that the microphone would work on the computer, testing on the computer showed it working.
